What's the GOSI deduction rate for a Saudi employee?
9.75% of the contributory wage (9% for the pensions branch + 0.75% for the SANED unemployment insurance system), while the employer pays an additional 11.75% (including 2% for occupational hazards).
Are GOSI contributions deducted from a non-Saudi employee's salary?
No. A non-Saudi employee doesn't bear any social insurance deduction from their salary, and doesn't benefit from the pensions and SANED branches. The employer alone bears the 2% occupational hazards rate, and this doesn't appear on the employee's payslip.
What is the "contributory wage"?
It's the basic salary plus the regular housing allowance (if any). Transport allowances or other irregular allowances aren't included in the GOSI contribution base.
Is there a maximum wage subject to GOSI?
Yes, the maximum monthly wage subject to contribution is 45,000 SAR — for any salary exceeding this, the deduction is calculated on 45,000 SAR only, not the full salary.
Why does the calculator show my cost to the employer?
Useful when negotiating a new salary or understanding the "full cost" of employing you from the company's perspective (your gross salary + the employer's GOSI contribution) — information that doesn't usually appear on your payslip but helps you understand your actual value to the employer.
Does this calculator include income tax?
There's no income tax on individual salaries in Saudi Arabia, so the only deduction calculated here is GOSI plus any other deductions you enter manually (like loans or advances).
